New areas of activity for Węglokoks, including opportunities for coal gasification, were discussed by representatives of the Capital Group, Tomasz Heryszek, Vice-President of the Management Board for Commerce, Węglokoks S.A., and Jarosław Jędrysek, Vice-President of the Management Board for Finance, and the representatives of the Chemical Coal Processing Institute headed by its Director, Aleksander Sobolewski.

"Here at the Capital Group, we are planning to create a research and development department to pursue new, often innovative and essential solutions, technologies and areas for the Group. At the meeting we expressed our will to establish co-operation with the Chemical Coal Processing Institute," said Tomasz Heryszek, Vice-President of the Management Board for Commerce, Węglokoks S.A.

There are two areas under consideration for the co-operation with the Chemical Coal Processing Institute. The first is coal gasification, which is the subject of a number of working meetings and business analyses. The second project is the construction of the Synthetic Fuels and Energy Production Plant, which will allow the use of mining, industrial and municipal waste as a source of energy. The task force is working on the selection of the optimum technologies.
